Claudia was born in the small town of Guira de Melena, Cuba and raised with an extensive introduction to film, shown to her by her mother. Her love for the visual arts was cultivated quickly and from an early age watching movies at the small local theater. Eventually, at the age of 21, Claudia made the move to the United States to explore different opportunities. This search for opportunity resulted in the realization that she wanted to explore creating via her favorite medium; visual arts.
Since that realization, Claudia has gone on to work on several projects such as Elvis Costello’s most recent documentary “Spanish Model Documentary” and Juanes’ music video for “Pump it up”. Her involvement in these projects highlight her unique creative eye as well as her work directing several of her own films, music videos, and photograph series’ - which have even been featured in the Miami New Times among other outlets. Claudia’s artistic voice continues to evolve as she explores the medium and she looks to make her unique imprint as an immigrant filmmaker.
